Palacio de los Condes de Gabia (Granada, Spain) and Almeria University
16 th -19 th of February 2012

MuVi3, invites artists, musicians, designers and performers, also
professors and university students, to submit proposals of kinetic works to
be part of a public exhibition, with performances and discussions.
The event is organized by the Foundation of Artecittà (Granada), the
Politecnico di Milano, the University of Granada and the University of
Almeria.

Deadline for submissions:
15 July 2011

A lecture on the art of algorithm in the moving image.

'The lecture demonstrates, by means of practical examples, the use of algorithmic relationship in the art of moving images, from films and early generative art to contemporary digital techniques...

The lecture will include the projection of films by Peter Kubelka, Kurt Kren, James Whitney, Larry Cuba, Dan Sandin and Granular Synthesis.'

the festival premier takes place in london at BFI Southbank, 9-13 september 2009, followed by an extensive international tour which kicks off in buenos aires, 25-27 september 2009. "

MuVi, an acronym for Musica Visiva (“Visual Music”), an event of the Second
International Conference "Synaesthesia: Science & Art" (from April 28th to
May 1st 2007, Granada, Spain), is a collection of kinetic visual,
audio-visual or interactive works that spring from music by artists,
musicians, designers and performers. This catalogue collects the works of
the 23 participants that answered the call for kinetic works. The attached
DVD includes 40 movies, for a 150 minute video content.
